Big bang pushed back two billion years

"Our result hints that there may be something interesting happening with the Hubble constant," says Przybilla. But he cautions that the study reports only one distance measurement. "We need to follow this up with more measurements."

Hubble Constant, Schmubble Constant! This makes it all the MORE likely that we've been preceded by BILLIONS of years!

They'll keep pushing it back as they measure more, too. The "big bang" is a misinterpretation of the evidence. It wasn't a singular event, but rather an ongoing process, and it has been (and will be) ongoing forever.

The big bang is like a constantly running water faucet. From our perspective as a little chunk of debris in the stream of water, it appears as if the universe was formed in a one-time the explosive release from the faucet that is growing ever more distant from us, when in fact the water never stops getting released.

Or at least, that's my theory.
