I'll have to second Mac on this one. It really works! (but only if your running 3.1.2 on your phone)...
A multiverse "bifurcator" would actually create a proliferation of infinities: if you split your current worldline into two, you would also by nature split your worldline into *verses in which you have the app and those in which you don't, and of the set of *verses in which you HAVE the app, there will be an infinity of possible entries into the bifurcation set. So, really, it's kinda/sorta false advertising. A Universe Proliferator would be a better title! :)
Hey, Derek... As the creator of Universe Splitter, I have to tell you that the last thing I ever expected anyone to complain about was that the name I chose wasn't grandiose enough! You really made my day...
By the way, if any of you non-iPhone people want to split the universe, you can do so for free at my website, cheapuniverses.com
(Just click on "Price List," then click on the free pre-opening special.)
Enjoy! -- Eric
