Raquel Welch greets the New Age.

I couldn't be sure, but I think I glimpsed Daniel Pinchbeck at the end.

More Raquel Welch here.

I'm joking, of course.

I think.

Top 50 Hottest Sci-Fi Girls

I confess: while I'm an avid science fiction fan, I never watch TV and rarely watch movies, so I I'm only aware of a handful of the women featured here (and then often only peripherally).

One complaint, however, rises instantly to the fore: How on earth did the editors neglect Linda Harrison, who played "Nova" in the first two "Planet of the Apes" movies?

Disgruntled by National Geographic's distinctly unflattering rendering of "Wilma," a supposedly typical Neanderthal woman, conscientious Posthuman Blues reader Michael Garrett has produced a relatively blemish-free version:

She's still no Brooke Burke, but at least now she looks human -- which, being Neanderthal, she's not . . .

On the other hand, the "new" Wilma still looks a lot more appealing than this unsightly chimera, produced by John Fenderson:

Cicada shell cosplay

The streets may not be ready for Shokotan's "cicada shell" look, but that doesn't stop the multi-talented entertainer from decking herself out on occasion.

Shokotan, who talked about her fascination with cicada molts and showed off part of her collection in a television appearance last year, showed up at a recent concert wearing the insect shells on her head. According to this article on Excite News, the crowd went wild at the end of her performance when she tossed the crispy shells into the front row.

Forget what "the streets" find palatable; I find this genuinely fetching. And what better way to bring the wonders of entomology to the masses?

Today's featured artist is Phil Noto.

Watch "Green Porno," Isabella Rossellini's Nod to Insect Sex, Online

Isabella Rossellini knows her bug sex. The Italian model and film star wrote, directed, and starred in "Green Porno," a series of films detailing the sex lives of various bugs, arachnids, and molluscs.

So this is what happens when you hang out with David Lynch.

Hollywood's 'perfect woman': A cross between Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron and Carmen Electra

In fact, Carlizina isn't even a real woman - she's a digital combination of Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron and Carmen Electra.

Hey! eWarrior's been doing this for years!

A future-sexy Brigitte Bardot becomes entranced by the miasmic "cybernetic art" of the late Nicolas Schöffer:

And just in case you missed Raquel Welch strutting her stuff in mock-astronaut garb, click here. Like crazy, man!

A gem from Dark Roasted Blend:

Barbarella & Other Ladies in Space

A woman may have been created from Adam's rib down on planet Earth, but her charms will certainly follow man into outer space, making her the most utterly irresistible creature in this Galaxy and beyond (some alien monstrosities may disagree).

With lots of pictures!

Drat! The fiendish squad at Boing Boing has beaten me to this psychedelic video of Raquel Welch in faux-astronaut attire! But I'm willing to settle for leftovers.

Let's start 2008 in the most kitschy vein imaginable. (The announcer's voice and lurid intonation are priceless.)

What the world needs now is UFO-themed cheesecake photography.

I intended to include this photo in my post congratulating Tony for his well-deserved local blogging renown but it was late and I forgot.

All I can think of when I watch this is the "Lady in the Radiator" from David Lynch's "Eraserhead."

Tentagirls

A classic from Seattle fetish photographer Kevin Hundsnurscher, aka Elaisted. He did a series of photos with different models and the tentacle, but none were nearly as successful as this, which has become his signature image.

Depending on your perspective, this image is either a definitive argument for advancing transgenic research or for eliminating it.

Only one thing about the new Blogger that promises to be really annoying: it randomly inserts cheesecake photos.

Mannequin Fetishist Could Get Life

A man who has a history of smashing windows to indulge his fetish for female mannequins could draw a long prison term for his latest arrest. Ronald A. Dotson, 39, of Detroit faces up to life in prison if convicted of a charge of attempted breaking and entering at a cleaning-supply company in the Detroit suburb of Ferndale.
