Synthetic landscapes

I like the quiet surrealism of these arboreal phantasms; my favorites are the ones that don't look like their designers cared particularly if they resembled real trees . . .





Imagine entire forests of such transmitter-laden simulacra.

I don't like them. There's a cell phone antenna dressed like a tree in a street I used to pass by on my daily commute. Since this was a really fancy neighborhood, I wonder how much money the phone company offered the home owners.

Personally I'd prefer that the antennae be designed as modern abstract sculptures or something.

Something about these reminds me of the scene from Charlie Brown's Christmas, when they go to the artificial tree farm. They are so comical, on a literal level.

I like the idea, but it would be better if they could look a little more like real trees.
