Last night, after much screaming and wailing, the police came to my apartment and arrested the cretin across the haul for assault. Perhaps now I can blog in peace.

There's not much to tell. Watch a random episode of "Cops." You get the idea.

I didn't have anything to do with it aside from alerting the police to a disturbance down the hall. I had no idea they'd actually put anyone in handcuffs and start doing forensic work.

Ah, Independence, Missouri ...

Been there, done that. I can sympathize.

The scary part was that when the abusive boyfriend got released, he figured out I'd been the one who called the cops 'cause I was the only one in the apartment building with a working phone.

That made for some frightening confrontations. I moved out a week later.

Katie--

Knock wood, I don't think the bad-ass in question has any way of knowing it was me.

Thanks, Mac.

I don't feel so bad, then. Since I've been in my current place (about 7 years now, give or take) there's only been ONE case of the cops hauling another tenant off in handcuffs. Well, he was also being abusive to his apt. mate and drunk as a skunk to boot. Now we just have a (fairly) well-behaved ex-con who majored in Religious Studies in college. (Hmmmm, never thought of that before. Wonder if there's a connection?)
