Here's Richard Hoagland's latest. This one's interesting regardless of potential artificiality -- and this early in the game I wouldn't rule out an artificial origin, especially given the interesting "heel" shape of the main anomaly in question; it's one of those features that, if photographed on Earth, would probably arouse at least some interest among archaeologists.

In any case, it's a great deal more compelling than disembodied robot heads.

There are some interesting patterns along the lower left side and top right of the "horseshoe." They show up much more clearly when you enlarge the B&W; pic on the right. But where does RH get titanium? Is that the bright-colored stuff in the (presumably) IR photo?

I don't see no steenkin' "sculptured former 'gardens,' towers, parapets, etc."

Have I enlarged the grey corner image? Not yet. Shouldn't Hoagland be the one to do that to buttress his claim? Let alone label the aqua and olive colored images, and tell what they are compared to the greyscale one. And maybe tell us a little about why we should take his word that they are titanium.

If what you are assuming is the IR doesn't show the sharper edges, does that mean they are there?

I hope TEM is not going to be referring to that page as a "paper."

Carol -- Yeah, gardens may be a bit of a stretch. More like Martian "Inca City" type stuff although not even nearly THAT regular. (But still interesting, some of it rectilinear seeming.) So, no, I wasn't implying the edges are necessarily there just because the B & W is sharper, only that its the place to look if there are any. I think I'm becoming more and more sceptical of planetary SETI as I go along, anyway. Maybe RH is helping the process and I agree, a little explanation of what he's talking about in the pix would be helpful (like where exactly that titanium IS showing up!)
