To be sure, "Eraserhead" is a disturbing movie. But it's also a deeply funny one.

This scene, in which the main character meets his soon-to-be wife's parents for dinner, epitomizes both qualities and reveals director David Lynch working as a Celluloid shaman.

A "Do not watch while eating" warning would have been nice. ;)

But having never seen this movie, I might have to go rent it now.

It's worth renting! A classic. Go for the restored DVD.

Hey Mac -

An oldie from my local indie theater days. Usually paired with Liquid Sky or some other "avant garde" offering.

I loved the story, and especially the dance routine with the "alien fetuses" dropping all around. Disturbingly hilarious.

And Lynch is a Texan. We breed some weird ones down here on occasion. In his case, I think that's a good thing.

His weather reports are pretty fun, too.

Thanksgiving at the Lynch house must have been something...else.
