Oh boy, that is truly bizarre, hoax or no. Seems like it would be easy to test though. Just take the thing out of the jar and do autopsy on IT. From the inexact description -- "stored in a pungent liquid" -- it sounds like it's preserved in formaldehyde, the standard embryo preservative! -- which would seem to indicate in itself that the thing is truly organic, although putting a plastic model in formaldehyde (would it dissolve plastic though?) could be part of the hoax!
