Look what else I got for Christmas!

I'm not Catholic. I've never been Catholic. But I like setting Nunzilla loose on the floor and watching the fireworks.

I wonder if she'll hit it off with Katita . . .

Looks to me like she's yelling, "A fetus is not a choice!" as she ratchets along.

Ohh, yah! Sister VIctoria, St. Henry's Grade School, Gresham Oregon. Yep. Took an American History text book, a pretty large one, and knocked this poor wise ass right OUT of his chair! Lumped his head, she did. Oh, God. Shut the rest of us right up, I'll tell you! She kept a QUIET class, Victoria did. Sparks. Sparks she spit, yes indeeeed! The makers of Nunzilla must have found out about Sister Victoria.

Too bad they didn't make a doll of Sister Evangeline as a counterpoint. If I've ever met a living saint, it just might have been her. Very pretty she was, too. And one of the sweetest personalities I recall having known.

But Nunzilla. She taught eighth grade.

Ken, I also did the Catholic school circuit, and ran into my share of Nunzillas. Specifically Sister Martha Louise. I'm surprised I still have my ears considering how often they'd be pulled as I was dragged to the principal's office. :)

From the GREAT Death Cab for Cutie song "I Will Follow You Into the Dark," off of the Plans (2005) album (one of the year's best):

"In Catholic school,
as vicious as Roman rule,
I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black,
And I held my tongue,
as she told me
'Son fear is the heart of love,'
So I never went back."

I meant to add...

Best science teacher I ever had? Sister Maureen, grade 7, Caledonia Junior High, Dartmouth, N.S.

No kidding.
