I just ordered Vonnegut's book as well.

When I worked in the restaurant world, I saw the Charnas name on our reservation list, and put them in my section just in case...and had my husband bring me my copy of the Vampire Tapestry. She didn't come, but it was her family, and they thought it hilarious that anyone reads her stuff and would want her autograph.

I have some old paperback copies of "Walk to the End of the World" and "Motherlines" that make the books out to be soft-core bondage fantasies. I emailed Charnas to tell her I'd found some vintage editions of her work and she (virtually) recoiled in horror.
