To my surprise, "After the Martian Apocalypse's" Amazon.com ranking is riding (relatively) high at #9,995 -- the closest it's been to the top since it debuted at 4,000 or so slightly over a year ago.

As well as being an authoritative and readable treatment of the topic, it has one terrific title. "Martian Apocalypse"? Who knew they had one too? Let alone a post-apocalyptic period! According to Bear's Theory of Literary Success, a good title is at least 50% of it, quite possibly more!

It's kind of a mouthful, but I like it.

Top thousand -- that's great!

That's still great. :)

Well, that's just fine. BTW: although I've not finished it, I find your writing style in ATMA to certainly be in my taste. Too bad you couldn't have inclued more, and more clear, illustrations. But then, I'd guess that you're lucky just to get such a book published! Publishing is a pretty risk-averse business.

Ken--

The "illuistration complaint" is quite common, and justly so. Unfortunately, the book only had room for so many. The good news is that I've got everything covered on my Mars site. See:
