Interesting . . .

Mac -- I was frankly blown away when I visited the Starchild site and (especially) when I viewed the slide show. It doesn't strike me that the researchers themselves are trying to perpetrate a hoax, although the phrase "black op" did occur to me -- at least until I saw the pix of the "conehead" skulls from Peru. (Dan Akroyd evidently did his research!) Those simply can't be human and it's hard to conceive of a black op producing not one but three such realistic specimens. The upshot is, I simply don't know WHAT to make of it all. I consider myself something of a UFO "show me" sceptic -- willing to believe but pretty hard-assed about what I would accept as evidence. Anyway, another thought that occurred to me is that it's unlikely we're seeing an alien-human HYBRID, since it's doubtful that Alien DNA (if they have DNA at all) would be compatible with human. What does seem more likely is that they might modify human DNA in some ways so as to "evolve" us towards what they consider a more advanced (intelligent, etc.) form.

I've been keeping up with the "Starchild Project" for several years. The forensic/DNA analysis is legit.

It *might* be evidence of ET experimentation, but even if it isn't it warrants careful study.

What if it's an alien-human chimera?

That's an interesting suggestion. How would such a chimera be produced?

I'm not an expert in biology, but I assume that such a chimera can be produced pretty much the same way we can (at least in theory) produce human-animal chimeras today. If memory serves me correct, they've already created a pig with human blood -- and now they're working on mice with human brains. They can even create chimeras which combine outward physical characteristics (for instance -- one which is part human, part rabbit -- which is gross, but anyway...)

I'm waiting for the movie "Bugs Bunny Begins"! ;-) Seriously, the kind of chimera you're talking about does require grafting the DNA of one species onto the DNA of another species, or so it would seem. I'm guessing it might be possible to MAP alien DNA (or whatever) even if incompatible onto human DNA. It would just require creating the functionally equivalent human DNA. On the other hand, if the UFOnauts are from the FUTURE then they must have evolved from us, in which case their DNA WOULD be compatible....

If "aliens" are in fact creating hybrids, then I would venture to say we're somehow related.

I got this weird notion the other night that our UFOnauts are actually time travellers from the very distant past...

Time-travelers from the *past*. I like that...

The Martians who are "us"?

Martian time-travelers? Whoa -- what did I miss? :-)

Well, I wasn't necessarily thinking they were from Mars, but from somewhere else...

On another note, last night I was looking at photos of the "conehead" skulls found in Peru. Then it struck me that the Nefertiti glyph on Mars (assuming that it's not a simulacra) appears to be wearing a "hat" that would nicely fit an elongated head...The reason I find that even partly significant is that one type of "conehead" skull they found supposedly *predates* the human race (which is really puzzling scientists).

Of course, if Martians had landed on Earth in ancient times they would probably have broken their bones. Mars only has a third of the gravity that we do, and their bodies would have been adapted to that environment.

Beldar lives! Seriously, I've thought of that too. Even if the ancient Martians had wanted to "areoform" (apparently the term for making a planet "Mars like" from Ares, the Greek name for Mars) Earth, they couldn't have done anything about the gravity difference. But maybe they "planted" a genetic modification of their species (chimera?) that would be adapted to the 3x greater gravity -- to wit, us.
